During the years of WW1 (1914-1918) Algeria aided the French not only with substantial material support, but also with thousands of "indigenous" soldiers. Out of all the French colonies of the time Algeria was the largest supplier of material support and manpower for France along with West Africa. Examples of material aid that Algeria sent were grains, wine, tobacco, and sheep.
However, when it did come to fighting Algeria saw the least amount of human casualties, Their standing army was mainly made up of volunteers.
Egypt
Egypt was more affected by WW1 than anything else. They participated in WW1 on the side of the Allies, however their troops fought in multiple countries, such as Belgium, France, Italy, and Greece. The war however tore Egypt apart at it's seams and a new Egypt emerged from the rubble. On May 31st, 1916 Britain declared Marital Law in Egypt over an area expanding from the Mediterranean in the North to Sudan in the South and from Tripoli in the West to the Nile in the East. On November 12th 1916 the Egyptian newspapers reported the death of Ali bin Dinar, the sultan of Darfur. This was after Britain sent a battalion of the Egyptian army to depose of him.

Ethiopia
The Italio-Ethiopian War was an armed conflict that eventually ended in Ethiopia giving in to Italian rule. Prior to Italy invading, at this time Ethiopia was one of the few independent countries left standing in a European dominated continent. In December of 1934 there was a border disagreement between Ethiopia and the Italians and it turned bad. This incident is called the Italian-Somaliland and it gave Benito Mussolini the perfect chance to intervene, he ignored every plea to stop and on October 3rd 1935 Italy invaded Ethiopia. As of May 5th 1936, Ethiopia's emperor had gone into exile and Italy had prevailed. The issue with this war was that the United Nations condemned the actions of Italy, but no actions were ever taken and nobody stepped in to back Ethiopia. In June of 1936 the emperor of Ethiopia, Haile Selassie addressed the U.N. about the injustice that was taken upon his people's country. He opened his address with "I, Haile Selassie I, Emperor of Ethiopia am here today to claim that justice which is due to my people, and the assistance promised to it eight months ago, when fifty nations asserted that aggression had been committed in violation of International treaties."
